These lamps have been specially developed for use with reptiles and provide very high levels of light and UVB without excessive heat. As with Mercury Vapour lamps they cannot be used with a thermostat, so care needs to be taken to select the appropriate wattage and installation for the enclosure to prevent over-heating.
