Gold Stem Branching Frogspawn

Gold Stem Branching Frogspawn

Branching Frogspawn (Euphyllia divisa, Yaemyamaensis) is a popular, relatively easy LPS coral requiring moderate lighting and low-to-moderate, indirect water flow to prevent tissue damage.

Maintain stable parameters

Salinity 1.023-1.026

75-80°F

pH 8.1-8.4

Alk 8-12 dKH

Calcium 400-450 ppm

Give them space, as they have long, stinging, defensive tentacles.

Key Care Requirements:

Placement & Flow: Place in the lower-to-middle sections of the tank with low-to-moderate, indirect flow.

High, direct flow can cause them to shrivel or damage their delicate tissue.

Lighting: Moderate light is best, too much light can cause bleaching.

Water Quality: Stable water chemistry is essential.

Feeding:

While photosynthetic, they benefit from target feeding small, meaty foods like mysis shrimp or plankton 1-2 times a week.

Aggression: They have potent sweeper tentacles that can extend several inches, so place them away from other coral species to avoid stinging.

Retraction: Often caused by too much flow, poor water quality, or chemical warfare from neighbors.
