Schooling planktivore, often feeding in very large schools in current channels between reefs. Feeds on zooplankton at various depths. Sometimes the large schools are spread over a broad depth over a broad depth range, anywhere from surface to about 60m depth. Readily identified by its unusual colouration of a white and yellow-orange body and tail, and a dark to almost black head. Length to 18cm.
